You know what I love?

You know what I love? Acoustic covers of hip-hop songs, that's what:

Outkast's "Hey Ya":

Sir-Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back":

Law School

I think that prospective law students should have to sit in on an upper level class and then be tested on what they've been "taught". I think that would weed out the bad apples.

Lazy

So I'm sitting at panera debating lunch. I'm not hungry, but I don't want to walk up and down the hill twice. God I'm lazy.

Thanksgiving

This is a list of things I am thankful for:

1) Beer.
2) My family, which has given me more than I could ever determine or repay.
3) Friends, who keep me sane when determining the tax character of 1231 hotchpot inclusions are pushing me over the edge.
4) That there are people in this world willing to go out and be shot at so that I don't have to.
5) Beer.
6) Running water and by extension, toilets and showers

Music!

It soothes the savage beast or breast or something. I haven't written about music in a while, mostly because I haven't gotten anything new enough to write about. But NOT NOW! I got a bug in my bonnet and acquired some new stuff, legally even.

Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030
Oh Emm Eff Gee. I command the two of you that read this to go out and buy this. Well, assuming you like hip-hop. But seriously, this is the best album I've heard in a long time. I've wanted to pick this up for a while, but it went out of print a few years ago. It got reissued earlier this year and put on iTunes where I got it and OMG. There's not much that I can say that hasn't apparently already been said about it, but the beats are amazing and the lyrics dense. Really, its kind of the musical version of 1984, only you know not co-opted by people who hate shrubs.

Aesop Rock - None Shall Pass
This got a bigger meh from me than I really expected. There are two amazing singles and some filler. The filler isn't bad, but the two stand-out songs are the singles. I'll also admit that I haven't given this as much of a listen as I should have. That Deltron album has been taking up way too much space on the playlist at the moment.

That was the last purchase I made. Beck's new album is also pretty good, but Danger Mouse produced it so I'm biased. Panic!'s newest is crap. 504 Boyz I Can Tell is the best love song ever written.

Also, Ted Nugent's Stranglehold is now my ringtone. This makes me feel all funny inside, like when we used to climb the rope in gym class.(Note: I have never climbed a rope, in gym class or otherwise)

Halloween

So Halloween is coming up. This presents a dilemma as a) I love Halloween and 2) I'm lazy as fuck. I've actually given some thought to costumes this year however and have 4 distinct possibilities depending on how the stars align.

1) The Long Shot: Jew Man Group
This is the long shot option as it would require at least 2 other people willing to dress similarly. It is awesome though: We go as the Jew Man Group. This entails dressing up as the Blue Man Group and wearing kippahs and those curl things that orthodox jews have. I like it because its a pun AND slightly racist at the same time.

2) The Luck Option: Matt Foley
I call this the luck option because it is entirely dependent on finding the right jacket at a thrift store. If I can find the correctly patterned jacket, I can go as Matt Foley:

I like this option as I think I look like Chris Farley (in the sense that we're both fat white guys).

3) The Work Option: Robots

Yeah, I'm lazy but robots are awesome and I'd get to sing the "Humans are dead"

4) The Lazy Option: Clark Kent
This is the lazy option as it only requires me to get a Superman t-shirt. I wear the t-shirt under a dress shirt and suit, like I'm in the process of taking it off. I like this one cause its kind of clever, subtle, and doesn't require me to wear spandex. Well, visible spandex at any rate.
